Offizielles Schreiben zur Nichterneuerung der Mitgliedschaft in der International Speed Badminton Organisation (ISBO) bzw. International Crossminton Organisation (ICO).
Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren
Sehr geehrter ISBO/ICO-Präsident René
Hiermit teilen wir Ihnen mit, dass Swiss Speed Badminton per 1.1.2016 seine Mitgliedschaft bei der Internationalen Speed Badminton Organisation bzw. der Internationalen Crossminton Organisation (ISBO/ICO) nicht verlängert.
Zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt und in der momentanen Form des Weltverbandes bringt Swiss Speed Badminton eine Mitgliedschaft in der ISBO/ICO keine Vorteile, Unterstützung oder Entwicklungspotential. Die letzten Vorkommnisse innerhalb der ISBO/ICO haben uns zudem zu diesem Schritt veranlasst.
Eine erneute Mitgliedschaft im Weltverband zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt schliesst Swiss Speed Badminton nicht aus.
Swiss Speed Badminton wünscht der ISBO/ICO alles Gute und eine positive Entwicklung. Wir hoffen der Fokus wird in Zukunft mehr auf eine solide Basis gelegt, als ein schweres Dach ohne tragende Stützen zu bilden. Wir wünschen insbesondere der Sportart Speed Badminton (Crossminton) eine erfolgreiche Zukunft.
Unsere Gründe für die Nichterneuerung der Mitgliedschaft sind in Kürze:
- Ungenügende/gar keine Unterstützung durch ISBO
- Keine offensichtliche Gegenleistung für die bezahlte Mitgliedergebühr
- Kaum/Keine transparente Kommunikation gegenüber den Mitgliedern und nach aussen
- Rechtlich fragwürdige Entscheidungen und Vorgehen
- Intransparente Finanzlage
Und im Detail:
- Wir baten die ISBO in unserem öffentlichen Schreiben vom 20.04.2015 um Antworten auf offene Punkte. Diese lieferte uns die ISBO nicht zufriedenstellend.
- Am General Assembly 2015 wurde über Inhalte entschieden, die vorgänging nicht traktandiert waren. Auf die überraschende ISBO-Meldung, dass der Verband nach der WM insolvent sei, machte ein
norwegischer Verbandsvertreter den Vorschlag, dass jeder Verband ausserordentlich einen zusätzlichen Betrag von 500 Euro an die ISBO bezahlen soll. Anmerkung: Dieser Betrag entspricht 2015 aus
Schweizer Sicht einer Erhöhung des Jahresbeitrags um das Dreifache (250 Euro auf 750 Euro). Ohne zu zögern beschlossen die ISBO-Verantwortlichen darüber abzustimmen, obwohl diese finanziell für
jeden Verband relevante Entscheidung vorher nie traktandiert oder kommuniziert wurde. Somit konnten wir auch nicht Rücksprache mit den Schweizer Verantwortlichen und Mitgliedern über diesen
schwerwiegenden Einschnitt in unsere eigenen Finanzen halten. Wir lehnten diese willkürliche Abstimmungsvorlage ab. Leider und erstaunlicherweise ohne Erfolg. Nachdem wir die rechtliche Situation
geprüft hatten, sprachen wir gegen diese Entscheidung, basierend auf dem § 32 Abs. 1 Satz 2 BGB, ein. Der ISBO aber behauptet weiterhin stur, dass alles rechtlich korrekt gelaufen sei. Überdies hat der ISBO den
Swiss Open Organisatoren (Jumping Speeders Basel), welche ein eigenständiges Turnier-OK sind, den ursprünglichen Unterstützungsbeitrag von 2000 Euro auf 1000 Euro gekürzt und davon lediglich 500
Euro ausbezahlt. Die restlichen 500 Euro behält die ISBO zurück für die aus ihrer Sicht von Swiss Speed Badminton geschuldete Jahresbeitragserhöhung.
Weitere Entscheidungen die am General Assembly gefällt wurden, liessen sich genau gleich gemäss § 32 Abs. 1 Satz 2 BGB als ungültig erklären. - Swiss Speed Badminton und seine Turnier- und Ausbildungs-Organisatoren erfuhren ungenügende/keine Unterstützung durch die ISBO bei der Organisation von Veranstaltungen oder der Entwicklung der Sportart in der Schweiz. Viel mehr mussten wir ständig neue Einschränkungen und Schnellschuss-Entscheide entgegen nehmen. Swiss Speed Badminton wurde dadurch in der gesamten Entwicklung massgeblich beeinträchtigt.
- Seit geraumer Zeit fordert Swiss Speed Badminton klare und transparente Kommunikation der ISBO mit ihren Mitgliedervertretern und nach aussen. Leider mit nur minimalstem Erfolg.
- Über die Finanzsituation innerhalb der ISBO kann nur spekuliert werden. Definitive und revidierte Jahresberichte gibt es seit dem offiziellen Bestehen (2013) keine.

Dear ISBO/ICO president René
Herewith we inform you that Swiss Speed Badminton will not extend its membership in the International Speed Badminton Organisation/International Crossminton Organisation (ISBO/ICO) by 1/1/2016.
At this stage and in the current form of the world association, a membership in the ISBO/ICO offers no advantages, support or potential for development to Swiss Speed Badminton. Besides, the latest incidents within the ISBO/ICO lead us to take this step.
Swiss Speed Badminton does not exclude the possibility of a renewed membership in the world association at a later time.
Swiss Speed Badminton wishes the ISBO/ICO all the best and a positive development. We hope the focus in the future is laid more on a respectable base instead of forming a heavy roof without fundamental pillars. We wish in particular the sport Speed Badminton/Crossminton a successful future.
Our reasons fort he non-renewal of the membership are shortly:
- Insufficient/ no support by the ISBO
- No evident service in return for the paid member fee
- Little/no transparent communication towards the members and third parties
- Legally questionable decisions and actions
- No transparency of the financial situation of the ISBO/ICO
And in detail:
- We asked the ISBO in our open letter from the 20.04.2015 for answers to open points. The ISBO did not deliver satisfying answers to us.
- In the General Assembly 2015 it was decided on contents that were not on the agenda. To the astonishing announcement of the ISBO that the association would be insolvent after the world championship a Norwegian representative made the proposal that every member-association should pay an additional amount of 500 euros to the ISBO. Remark: As seen from the perspective of Switzerland this amount means a threefold increase of the yearly member fee 2015 (250 euros to 750 euros). Without hesitation the ISBO-officials decided to take a vote on this, although this financially relevant decision for every association was not on the agenda or communicated in advance. Therefore we could not debate on this serious incision in our own finances with the people in charge oft he SSB as well as the members. We rejected this arbitrary vote. Unfortunately and surprisingly without success. After we had proved the legal situation, we objected against this decision, reffering to the § 32 Abs. 1 Satz 2 BGB. However, the ISBO still insists that everything took ist correct and legal course. Moreover, the ISBO cut the Swiss Open organizer’s (Jumping Speeders Basel), that are an independent tournament organisation, original support contribution of 2’000 euros to 1’000 euros and paid out only 500 euros to them. The remaining 500 euros the ISBO kept back for the, in their view owed extra yearly fee by Swiss Speed Badminton. According to § 32 Abs. 1 Satz 2 BGB, other decisions made at the General Assembly could similarly be declared void.
- Swiss Speed Badminton and its tournament and education organizers experienced insufficient/no support organizing events or developing the sport in Switzerland by the ISBO. Instead we had to accept new restrictions and hasty decisions repeatedly. Swiss Speed Badminton was thereby essentially affected in the whole development.
- For a considerable time Swiss Speed Badminton pleaded for a transparent and clear communication from the ISBO with its members and third parties. Unfortunately, only with the most minimal success.
- We can only speculate on the financial situation of the ISBO. No final and revised annual financial reports have been released since the official existence of the ISBO (2013).
